Wildflower Wonder

Wildflower meadows are a great way to use up large areas in the garden.

On this large bank made out of pond excavations wildflower seeds have been sown.

The wildflower is now established and blooming beautifully in mid June, however, a watchful eye is required to weed out Thistle and Nettle from the display. So, while this may look like just a jumble of colour, it required a trained eye to weed out what won’t give much flower power.

Wildflower meadows and areas of the garden are fantastic, fantastic for us humans to enjoy but also brilliant for our environment and pollinating insects, creating natural biodiversity. But these areas of our gardens do need attention, it needs gardening, and this is a prime example of it.
