Superbly Square

As September is here, the ground is softening up.

And with soft ground comes heavy spade work, clearing and reviving lost parts of the garden.

Here this old farmhouse had a square bed dating back to the Victorian age, my task was to uncover it, clear the square bed and then place cardboard on top of the bare soil to stop any weed germination.

After this, a thick layer of bark mulch will ensure this area is ready for planting in the spring, with less competition for planting from weeds.
