Shady Shrubs

In this beautiful, expansive garden we had one objective – add colour.

Now, colour is hard to come by in November, but we can indeed plant the promise of colour, now.

This is what we are doing here, with a selection of shade tolerant planting, to brighten up this pond area of the garden.

A strip of bedding added and Deciduous Shrubs – Ceanothus, Philadelphus, Escallonia, Deutzia and Forsythia added. After this an understory of Evergreen Hebe, Pieris, Viburnum, Hellebore, Euphorbia Purpurea, Choisia, and Ground covering Pachysandra were planted, all shade tolerant, hopefully with the view to giving colour beneath a sea of Oak above them.
