Drout tolerant display

2025 has been the driest Spring and Summer on record.

More an more of us gardeners are having to adapt our planting schemes to fit in with an ever changing climate. It is hot, and these plants cope well with drout. Verbena, Achillea, Iris, Erigeron, Artemisia, Lavender, all planted in March ready for this wonderful display here in July.

Subtle colours for a searingly hot heat-waved July. I cannot help wonder if more and more projects are going to rely heavily on this type of planting. No complaints from me, to break from the traditional, these plants are delighting with colour and scent too.
