Acanthus Attack!

Acanthus (otherwise known as Bears Breaches) is a beautiful thug.

A lovely plant, but in small doses.

This acanthus had taken control of this bed. Huge. It needed tackling, and part of it removing to allow new life and alternate planting into the bed.

After removing I planted in Delphinium and Lupin to contribute the cottage style planting scheme there.

Nearer the larger shrubs in the border in shaded areas I planted Hostas and twinned these with Alstroemeria, mimicking the leaf shape of both plants creating harmony in this section of the large border.
