Multicolour Mound

Now, this doesn’t look like much at the moment…

…but, this is an autumn job that will reap benefits in kind in Spring.

This mound of unused scrub is perfect for wildflower planting, and Autumn is the best time to do it. Preparing the mound and removing weeds before raking the soil level, and then raking again, and again, into a fine tilth.

Then planting Daffodils and Tulips in the mound, then sowing seed onto the fine surface. Scattering the seed liberally to then be watered in by the next rains.
