Softening the space
This courtyard area has been wonderfully landscaped.
We designed a triangular theme for this landscaped courtyard area. Working with some already established triangle beds at the end of the area, we then created block paving around this theme.
Designing a central area where people can sit and soak up the sun was essential, and we wanted to surround the seaters with sumptuous planting.
We decided to do this with two massive raised planters, and pack them with scented shrubs and leafy specimens. Hostas, Ferns and Grasses soften the hard landscaped area. Dots of colour with Verbena and Cosmos will add excitement to the area, a large Fatsia in the corner of one of the beds will create the leafy anchor point of the area. Daphnes, and Quinces will provide scent in early spring and Roses and Star Jasmine will provide the scent in summer.
A beautiful space to be in and making good use of soft and hard textures in the garden and bringing the place to life with beautiful planting.
